Apple iPhones 6s is the hottest-selling smartphone of 2016 beating Samsung’s newer Galaxy S7
Apple's year-and-half old iPhone 6s was the best-selling smartphone globally last year, beating newer rivals such as Samsung's Galaxy S7 models, according to new research by financial services company IHS Markit. According to a press release on IHS' website on Wednesday, the new iPhone 7 was the best-seller in the fourth quarter alone, followed by iPhone 7 Plus. Apple took the top four spots ahead of companies such as Samsung and Oppo. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge was the Korean company’s most popular flagship in 2016, and its ranked fifth followed by the Galaxy J3, Galaxy J5, and Galaxy S7 which was ranked ninth, outperforming S6 and S6 Edge in terms of sales.
